Friends and family are pulling for teenager Kirstin Cole, who was seriously injured in a crash Sunday.
A Facebook page set up for Cole on Monday got more than 2,200 comments in less than 24 hours.
As of Tuesday, the day after she turned 18 years old, Cole remained in intensive care at a hospital in Newport News.
Police continue to investigate the single-vehicle crash that injured Cole on Sunday just after 5pm when she ran off Stampers Bay Road in Middlesex County, hit a post and then some trees.
Police say Cole was originally taken to Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester before being transferred to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News with serious injuries.
The road was wet, but police say it wasn’t raining at the time of the crash. No one else was in the vehicle.
No charges have been filed.
